Prevalence of Cardiovascular Disease
Definition: The rate of hospitalization and ER visits attributable to cardiovascular disease.
Rationale: Cardiovascular disease can be the culmination of several risk behaviors and familial history. It can be prevented or treated early through the use of screening (BP, etc), healthier nutrition, increased activity, smoking cessation – all of which can be influenced through significant public health awareness campaigns.
